"This project was focused on creating a dog adoption website.

The challenge was to optimize the experience for users visiting the site in search of their canine companion. One of the standout design decisions was the choice of purple as part of the color palette for the interface.

Purple was selected for several reasons:

  • Association with empathy and compassion: Purple is often perceived as a color that evokes feelings of empathy and compassion. This aligns perfectly with the website's goal of promoting dog adoption and caring for animals in need.

  • Highlighting uniqueness: Purple is a color often associated with uniqueness and creativity. This helps the website stand out from the competition and attract visitors' attention.

  • Contrast and accessibility: Purple can be used effectively in combination with other colors to create strong contrast and ensure that the content is legible and accessible to all users, including those with visual impairments."

 

Minimalism is a design approach that emphasizes simplicity and the removal of unnecessary elements to create a clear and effective visual and functional experience. In the context of designing a dog adoption website, applying minimalism can be especially impactful, as it allows the image of the dog—the most important and emotional element—to truly stand out.
